The reworked "Half Dome Outlook" is worth a stop if you enter via Big Oak Flat Rd.

I don't like using "percent". Doesn't sound "organic" enough. It doesn't flow off the tongue.

Just some amazing photos you guys have there....I love Yosemite but still have a real fear of exposed heights so Lembert Dome is the most I can do for the time being!!

Here's a photo of Half Dome from a location that's just an easy five minute cross-country hike from a pullout off Tioga Road southeast of Coyote Rocks. (The pullout is where Old Tioga Road joins Tioga Road roughly a mile west of the May Lake junction.)
I was thinking this could be a nice place for your friend to pop the question to his girlfriend. They would definitely have the place all to themselves.

Kewl. It should be fairly obvious that my photo above was taken in the same, nearly exact, location

Yesterday (Wednesday, June 26, 2013), as summer days go, the air quality was pretty darn good in the Central Valley and sure enough, Eighty-Percent Dome was visible (through the haze) from Patterson. A very nice sight to see:
