Hi, chick-on. I decided to postpone my trip to T.M.

Yesterday someone wrote that only a few trails off T.M. proper were snow-free. Because the T.M. ranger station/visitor center has no power yet, families heading up there for the long weekend can't get accurate trail information before heading out. If you know this to be true, you could be of great service by posting the info. You've been terrific, thanks again.

I believe that was me:

If only looking at TM then you have:
Glen Aulin-Young Lakes: snow
Dog Lake-Young Lakes: snow
Glen Aulin: free of snow mostly for sure

Lyell Canyon: probably mostly free of snow on the flat part... woods parts may be snow... people were going there...
Rafferty: snow snow snow
Elizabeth/Nelson: snow
Budd/Cathedral: snow and have to cross Cathedral Creek

Last year on the 4th the Mono TH was free of snow all the way to Parker Pass...
we were very surprised.... I would not expect the same this year... and def.
wouldn't expect Koip Peak Pass switchbacks to be kind.

Talked to a nice couple on way to May Lake last wkend... they skied Dana from
500 ft. below the summit ALL the way back to the car at Tioga Pass.
It's unfortunate I couldn't tell them at the time that they should have hiked all the
way up to Hoffman... on account they could have skied all the way down too.

The huge upside to the snow is that the mosquitoes aren't out yet.
So, much like last year the wife is ecstatic that we will be able to spend
a nice long trip in the backcountry w/o annoying bugs.

Have fun out there & be safe (I assume no risk for your crazy actions... only my own)
Chick-on is looking at you!
