US-395 Closed at Bridgeport due to accident - 4 days ago
From the California Department of Transportation, District 9 Facebook page: US395 IS CLOSED AT BRIDGEPORT DUE TO AN ACCIDENT. A Detour is available via SR182 and Nevada Highways 338 and 208. US Hwy 395 is closed in Bridgeport at the Junction of SR 182 due to a big rig accident at the bridge. Traffic is being detoured on SR 182. NFS plans to open Red Meadows Valley by Memorial Day weekend - 9 days ago
From the Inyo National Forest website: The Forest Service will be working to prepare the Reds Meadow Valley for opening by Memorial Day Weekend. Once the road is plowed, road repairs must be made and hazard trees removed. The road isn't signed by its name (Tuolumne Grove Road or Old Big Oak Flat Road), instead it's clearly signed with a "Hodgdon Meadow" Campground directional sign. Just look for a big brown sign with "Hodgdon Meadow" written in white with a campground symbol ( ) and a directional arrow pointing in the direction to turn. .by plawrence - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. Several years ago I was returning from Mississippi "Lake" Memorial Day weekend, and had made a very early start to minimize time in the worst of the heat.
