At a campsite last week, I saw a campfire ring where a picnic table had been uprooted, turned on its side and set in the pit, and then partially burned as if it were firewood. As April arrives and spring takes hold, the "Idiot Alert" has been sounded at parks, trails and lakes across the Bay Area and Northern California.
