Southside Drive between El Capitan Crossover and the Chapel is now Closed to October 30th. Today, Sept. 4th expect up to 30 minute delays as crews continue striping and signing to establish the detour roads. The traffic detour is similar to last year when this segment was closed with El Capitan Crossover becoming one-way northbound traffic and Northside Drive becoming two-way traffic between El Capitan Crossover and Yosemite Lodge. Southside Drive will remain one-way east bound traffic between Pohono Bridge and El Capitan Crossover and Northside Drive will remain one-way west bound traffic between El Capitan Crossover and Pohono Bridge.
Within the Southside Drive closure crews will be pulverizing, grading, curb installation, and paving. The Chapel will remain open from the east, via Southside Drive between Sentinel Bridge and the Chapel. However, crews will be working in this area with pulverizing, grading, curb installation and paving, so please be patient.
Southside Drive between Wawona Road and El Capitan Crossover:
Continued headwall and shoulder work ongoing during the day with one lane open to traffic.
Northside Drive between El Capitan Picnic Area and Hanging Valley:
Continued utility & headwall work during the day with one lane open to traffic.
