We came south from the PCT through Bear Valley on Tuesday and there was about 4-6 inches of snow on the north slope of the route leading out of Bear Valley proper. Lots of bear tracks. No snow on the southern exposure. Bill-e-g bagged Piute Mountain that day with snow about the same depth.

We were on Hwy 108 Tuesday and Wednesday. The peaks had quite a bit of fresh snow and there was still evidence at the pass that the road had been plowed.

I noticed there wasn't a bit of snow showing on White Mountain. That'll probably change on Saturday.

Little visited Bear Valley Lake. Worth every bit of effort.
This was last Tuesday.

I didn't make it to Tioga Pass yesterday (10-11) but wanted to. I keep taking these detours!

Drove from Sparks NV to Truckee, down to Emerald Bay, then down to Markleeville, Monitor Pass, then doubled back on Leviathan Mine Road (wonderful dirt road, drive it!) and back home through Minden and up to Sparks.

Here displayed in order:

Vikingsholm, on Emerald Bay (Lake Tahoe)

Below Carson Pass on Highway 88/89, near Woodfords:

Side trip up Highway 4 to the gate below Ebbetts Pass:

Monitor Pass was open, so I guess you had to go really high to find the powdery stuff:

Yep, go North young man, it's nasty down south:

Last photo on Leviathan Mine Road (highly recommended drive!)

And to top it off, Little Richard rides you into Markleeville:

Vince,

It's good to find someone with a taste for fine music. Also, I really liked your Ebbetts Pass Mooooovie.
