Key road in Yosemite set to open Friday

Glacier Point Road, which leads to the spectacular lookout over Half Dome and Yosemite Valley, will open Friday at Yosemite National Park, pending any last-minute safety concerns by park rangers. Since snow arrived in the fall, the road has been open only to Badger Pass Ski Area.

When do the 4-mile and panorama trails usually open? Do the opening dates coincide with the opening of glacier point road? Looking to hike them on 5/11 and 5/13..

No correlation.
In years past the 4 mile trail has been open before the road.
You're at nature's mercy when it comes to that trail.

The panorama trail is open year round. Rain, snow, or shine.
