<HTML>The National Park Service is holding an open house in Yosemite National Park on Friday, March 28 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the East Auditorium, behind the Yosemite Valley Visitor Center.

The public is invited to the open house as the park moves forward on an ambitious slate of improvement projects in Yosemite National Park. These projects will implement actions called for in the Yosemite Valley Plan, continue the work necessary to recover from the 1997 flood, or complete planning efforts associated with ongoing park operations.

Among the projects that will be represented at the open house are the Lower Yosemite Falls Project, Yosemite Lodge Area Redevelopment, Curry Village and East Valley Campgrounds Improvements, East Yosemite Valley Ecological Restoration, Alternative Fuel Yosemite Valley Shuttle Bus Procurement, and many more.

For those projects soliciting public comments, written comments can be submitted at the open houses. Comments may also be sent to the park via fax (209/379-1294), email ([email protected]), or standard mail (Yosemite National Park Superintendent, PO Box 577, Yosemite, CA 95389). To see a summary of current projects and their status as well as access related planning documents on the web, go to www.nps.gov/yose/planning.

When coming through the park entrance gate, tell the ranger that you are attending the open house in the valley and the entrance fee will be waived. For those unable to attend the open house, refer to the Planning Update in the coming weeks for a schedule of future open house events.</HTML>
