Questions for hikes in May

Hi,

I am planning a trip to Yosemite around May 12 and I have some questions concerning Yosemite so if anyone can take the time to help me it would be very appreciated...

- Does some trails still have snow? are some trails closed?

- Are there mosquitoes at this time of the year?

- Is it possible to rent tents and if no, where can I sleep if I don't want to spend a lot of money?

- I will be there 3 days so what is the best planning of hikes if I want to get great views of Yosemite valley (high), to see some giant sequoias and the highest waterfalls? (I am an advance hiker)

I know that the cables of HalfDome are down at this time of the year but does the hike up to the cables is still the highest point that I can reach in May? (the best view of the valley?)

- I am taking a bus to Merced, and how far is it from the valley and are there buses between Merced and Yosemite valley?

Thaks a lot</HTML>

Yes, some trail will have snow and some trails will be closed.

Probably not.

The tent cabins aren't too expensive. But be sure to get a reservation.
