Highways 120 and 41 into Yosemite National Park Remain Open and Accessible

Highway 140 is open from Yosemite National Park to El Portal. Highway 140 remains closed about 10 miles west of El Portal due to rock slide. Businesses and accommodations in El Portal and throughout the Mariposa area are open.

Two alternative routes from Mariposa to Yosemite Valley are available. Additionally, Highway 120 (West) and Highway 41 (South) are open 24 hours per day. Additional staff is on hand to assist visitors at the Big Oak Flat (Highway 120) and South Entrance (Highway 41) gates to Yosemite National Park.

The summer season in Yosemite National Park is well under way, with vibrant foliage and spectacular waterfalls that are attracting many visitors to experience all that Yosemite has to offer.

In addition to the 800 miles of hiking trails available in the park, visitors can enjoy the sights of Yosemite by renting a bicycle and utilizing the 20 miles of existing trails or riding a horse to breathtaking vistas, or attending a free interpretive program, offered in locations throughout the park. Information about events and activities currently happening in Yosemite National Park can be found in the Yosemite Today, available at many park locations.
