The Glacier Point Road was opened to adminstrative traffic yesterday. Might we see it opened for the rest of use by this weekend?

Don't count on it. There's a storm coming in tomorrow.

It was a nice thought but that last storm kept it closed. The road should open soon though. Maybe even tomorrow?

Glacier Point Road to Open in Yosemite National Park
Date: May 3, 2007

The Glacier Point Road will open to visitors on May 4, 2007 at noon. Glacier Point is located about 30 miles from Yosemite Valley off the Wawona Road, the section of State Highway 41 inside the park. Limited services are available at Glacier Point, including portable toilets and hand washing stations.

There is no projected opening date for the Bridalveil Creek campground.

Roadways may be wet due to ice and melting snow and wildlife is very active on the Glacier Point Road. Visitors are advised to drive with caution.

An opening date for the Tioga Road, the section of State Highway 120 which crosses the Sierra Nevada through Yosemite National Park, has yet to be determined.
