Before it gets posted by some other source let me confirm that water will not work as fuel. Being of advanced years I forgot that I was rinsing with water a used ACT bottle for use as a denatured alcohol fuel bottle. I packed the bottle of water (18oz) and discovered at dinnertime at Peeler Lake that my cat stove wouldn't light. A quick sniff found that the fuel had no odor. This was day one of a five day trip. Fortunately my hiking buddies, Dale and his wife Tina, had 22oz of fuel for their Dragonfly and we were able to make it through the trip with some fuel to spare. I did hear things like, "Oh look! A whole lake full of fuel!" though.

Dale will probably post some pictures or at least make some spirited comments.

So much for my ocean of fire theory.

At least not in backpacking stoves, in that form. We'll have to see about cars.
