first come first serve??

Can anyone suggest the best way to get a first come first serve tent camp site somewhere along Tioga rd? Where do I need to go? What time should I get there? What are the odds that I actually get something? I'm planning to go in Mid August on a Sun-Wed.

Get there mid-day on Sunday and you'll have no problem. The only time I've seen Porcupine Flat or Yosemite Creek fill is on a Friday or Saturday night.
