Greetings all! I am trying to arrange a thruhike of the JMT for July of 2008, and I'm having trouble finding a ride from Whitney Portal to Yosemite. I would like to drive down, leave my car at Whitney Portal, then catch a ride over to Happy Isles preferably on July 7th or 8th. Is anyone going that way on that day? I would be willing to pay for a ride!
How difficult is it to take the CREST to the YARTS over? That seems like a multi-day trip to get over to Yosemite. Has anyone done it before? Any advice would be totally appreciated!
