A backpacker's interview
May 07, 2008 02:24PM
Hey. My name is John, I'm a journalism student at San Diego State (yes, that SDSU in the news today,) but I am working on a features story for a class (and possibly the school paper) on backpacking.

I want to ask some questions to some people who have summited Whitney via Whitney Portal and also someone who has hiked the entire John Muir trail. I myself have summited Mt. Whitney in 2005, and and avid backpacker (up until last year, school got busy)

I want to write a narrative about a single person's trek but simultaneously talk about the elements of backpacking like equipment, tips, and advice somewhat interspliced.

I can interview via email or by telephone.

Any takers?

John,
Not quite what you want but I've done it from TM to Road's End in King's Canyon only. No Whitney summit. I am single but did the trip with a hiking buddy.
