Northside Drive was open for last weekend and then closed again last night and will remain closed until Friday, May 23, 2008, and Southside Drive will remain 2-way traffic until Friday, May 23, 2008 ).
Afternoon of May 23rd thru Labor Day
North and Southside Drive will reopen and the roadways will return to their original one-way traffic configuration. El Cap Crossover will also reopen.
May 27th thru July 30th
Crews will begin night work on Southside Drive between Pohono Bridge and Wawona Road. This night work will include closing Southside Drive between Pohono Bridge and Wawona Road between the hours of 8:00 PM and 6:00 AM. Traffic will be detoured onto Northside Drive & El Capitan Crossover with pilot car operations.
This night work will include pulverizing the existing road surface and repaving. There will be a period of time when daytime traffic will be driving on nonpavement, so please slow down while driving thru these areas. Also, during the daytime hours crews will be working on headwalls, etc. with one lane closed, while traffic is flowing in the other lane.
