New Postage Stamp to be Unveiled in Yosemite National Park
42 cent stamp features Albert Bierstadt painting “Valley of the Yosemite”
What: “First Day of Sale Ceremony” for the new stamp featuring Yosemite National Park. Latest stamp in the American Treasures series.
When: Thursday, August 14, 2008 10:30 A.M.
Where: Yosemite Valley Post Office
Who: Bill Carroll, Postmaster, Yosemite National Park
Mike Tollefson, Superintendent, Yosemite National Park
Scott Gediman, Public Affairs Officer, Yosemite National Park
Kenny Karst, Public Relations Manager, DNC Parks and Resorts in Yosemite, Inc.
Photo Ops:
-Postmaster Bill Carroll and Superintendent Mike Tollefson unveiling the new stamp. A large poster depicting the stamp
will be part of the ceremony
-Park visitors and stamp collectors buying collectors caches which include the new stamp, a first day cancellation available
only in the park, and previous Yosemite National Park stamps
-Interviews with the officials involved in the First Day of Sale ceremony for the stamp.
