In spring 2008, an experimental "pulse flow" was released from Hetch Hetchy Reservoir with the intent of mimicking pre-
dam spring runoff conditions. Greg Stock, Jim Roche, Monica Buhler, and Sarah Stock, members of the “Looking
Downstream” team, will present research into the downstream physical and biological responses to this pulse flow, along
with ongoing monitoring of meadow and riparian habitats in Poopenaut Valley.
Danny Schaible will give a presentation about the historical significance of the cultural landscape of Hetch Hetchy Valley
that has recently been assessed and described, and Bret Meldrum will present the results of the 2007 visitor use estimation
project from the O'Shaughnessy Dam with a discussion of future correlation potential to vehicle arrivals at the Hetch
Hetchy entrance station.
Interested employees, residents, and members of the public are invited to join us in the East Auditorium on Tuesday,
December 9 at noon.
