North Side Drive

Northside Drive is open now for vehicle traffic from El Capitan Crossover to the El Capitan picnic area in a two way configuration between these points. Speed limit is set at 25MPH (enforceable).

The road will remain open until February 27th when it will once again close to allow for continuation of construction related activities. Please use caution, especially at the intersections of El Capitan Crossover and Northside (westbound) where the former "Stop" signs will again be in place. Watch for bikes on the roadway and pedestrians along the roadway edges.

It's always interesting going to the valley in winter or spring, and wondering what circuitous route you'll be taking to weave your way through the valley. They have had some interesting configurations of ways to get around most any construction. Before I knew the valley roads, it was very confusing, especially at night, and you could find yourself headed back to the entrance instead of the campground pretty easily.

Exactly Sierrafan.... for those who go often, it gets irritating because you THINK you know the roads, then all of a sudden, they change them up again from the last time you were there. lol
