Bishop, CA (April 20, 2009)...The Inyo National Forest has announced that the paved road into the Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest will open as far as Schulman Grove on Tuesday, April 21st.

Bristlecone Pine Forest Manager John Louth stated that while the Methuselah Trail is still blocked by snow, the two other trails at Schulman Grove are now snow free and open. The Schulman Grove area will be staffed on weekends beginning May 9th and will increase days of operation after the Memorial Day holiday weekend. Louth also noted that the Silver and Wyman Canyon Roads remain closed due to snow and saturated roadbeds at higher elevations.

For further information on the road conditions in the White Mountains please contact John Louth at 873-2514.
