Bodie Ghost Town 150th anniversary celebration Saturday, Aug. 8. Waterman (William) Bodey (or however you spell it) discovered gold in them thar hills in 1859.
I've heard Bodie referred to as part of the Comstock lode (also discovered in 1859). Dunno about that, but it's something to think about.
If you're looking for a message board full of Bodie stuff, good luck finding it. But you can try here,
I'd go to Bodie if I were you. It's slated to shut down this fall due to the California legislature's ineptness.
