A series of public meetings has been scheduled to update area residents with information on travel delays and road closures due to construction taking place in Yellowstone National Park this summer. Visitors can expect up to 30-minute delays, as well as nightly closures from 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., on the park’s Grand Loop Road between Madison and Norris through Gibbon Canyon through August 16.

Beginning August 17, the road through Gibbon Canyon will be completely closed to all travel for the rest of the season due to bridge work. The road will reopen to snowmobile and snowcoach travel in December.

Park staff will provide details and answer questions about this and other road projects at a series of public meetings scheduled in area communities during July.
