Brown Widow Spider

While dealing with some piles of old lumber in San Diego, encountered a lot of unpleasant looking spiders that superficially resembled Black Widow Spiders and have a red hour glass on ventral surface:

Apparently a relatively new toxic spider in southern california, related to Black Widow species:
