Mike Madel of the Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks says four foot snares were set at a ranch south of Dupuyer after a report Saturday that a grizzly had killed a cow.
When game managers arrived at the site Monday morning, they found all four snares with bears. A fifth bear, a cub, was roaming free nearby and it was caught separately.

Sounds like four were in the snares at one time at one trap site and one cub was captured nearby. Still must have been a near riot at the trap site, especially when they started tranquilizing them. I was not familiar with the leg hold snares. Seems like a good option to catch some Valley black bears.
