Superintendent Jock Whitworth has announced that the Weeping Rock Trail in Zion National Park has reopened after being closed by a rockslide on September 2. A 50 foot section of the trail was buried with tons of rock and debris requiring the trail to be closed for visitor safety. The park’s trail crew and an American Conservation Experience volunteer crew removed the rock and debris from the trail and made the necessary repairs to reopen the trail.

The Weeping Rock Trail is one of the most popular trails in the park. The ½ mile round trip trail ascends 98 feet to a rock alcove with dripping springs and hanging gardens.
