Lost hikers in Palm Springs will soon find emergency kits filled with a blanket, cell phone and water, among other rescue supplies. The Palm Springs Mounted Police Search and Rescue Team will install two boxes Saturday — one at 2,500 feet and a second at 5,000 feet — along the Skyline Trail, the police department announced Wednesday.
