Where to camp on the east side before July?

About six of us will be dayhiking June 27-29, starting on the east side. Is it possible to camp at Tuolomne Meadow before July? Any suggestions on good places to camp without a reservation between there and Yosemite Valley?

Thanks from a mostly SEKI hiker for suggestions!

As for campground you can try Tioga Pass Campground. Just east of the park.
(that's all I know about it)

Short answer: no

There's not much before July. But if you go the other way, you can usually find something along Lee Vining Creek.
