Grand Canyon, Ariz.,On Saturday, March 15 at approximately 8:00 a.m. the Grand Canyon Regional Communications Center received a report of a man who had fallen off the rim near El Tovar Lodge. Rangers were able to locate the man, who had fallen about 350 feet from the rim, and began CPR. All efforts to resuscitate the victim were unsuccessful. The 53 year old man, John N. Anderson of Grapevine, Texas was visiting the park with family. An investigation into the incident is being conducted by the National Park Service in coordination with the Coconino County Medical Examiner. No further information is available at this time.
