Harden Lake, Smith Meadow, and Pate Valley Trails are closed due to fire activity in the area

There is an alternate route to Pate Valley from White Wolf, which bypasses the Harden Lake area.

Don't overlook the route from Hetch Hetchy that will take you past the Famous Table Lake. A bonus is a trip through Pleasant Valley.

Came down from Mt. CondRon via the switchbacks; the smoke was very heavy throughout the Hetch Hetchy area. Last night, The Smith Peak area looked like a smoldering volcano (hopefully there will be a pic posted later on as the moon was rising). Yesterday, it was brutally hot coming up the Switchbacks, and the added smoke did not help. It was so hot that we garryed a record 5 larrys each of water...you could sure feel that extra weight going up that X-country to CondRon.
