Tioga Pass Plowed Already?

Looks like somebody ran a snow plow into the park today:

By golly they sure did. When I looked at it first thing this morning it wasn't plowed. It looks like Caltrans has been busy on the east side.

Is that the eastern entrance to the park?

That's exactly what it is.

According to this website, plowing will not start until 4/16.

The Park Service probably won't start their plowing until 4/16. This was probably done by Caltrans from the East.

This indicates Caltrans has at least one lane plowed all the way up from the first gate near Hwy 395. Wow!

According to the Tuolumne winter update for yesterday, there is only 12 inches of snow in the meadows!! Once they start plowing it should go pretty fast. And it looks like they may have started early.

Maybe this is good news for the other roads.. 108, etc. Perhaps they will plow early , I assume it's Caltrans doing those roads?

I would say the prospect of seeing both Hwys 108 and 4 opening early is quite good. Possibly within the next couple of weeks.
