(Lost in this ironic story is the fact that the C.U.T. has a large settlement contiguous with the northern border of Yellowstone and is an important part of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem.)

Doomsday sect’s future in doubt
By MATTHEW BROWN, November 8, 2009 12:00 am

BOZEMAN - Members of a Montana-based sect whose influence expanded as it prepared for a nuclear holocaust that never came, now search for new directions after the death of Elizabeth Clare Prophet - "Mother" to her thousands of followers.

The Church Universal and Triumphant still keeps its 750-person underground shelters stocked with food - "insurance," its leaders say, against possible dark days ahead.....

People move to Montana to get away from civilization and some to become survivalists in the wilderness apparently not realizing that we have had many nuclear weapons in secret silos. I don't know if those silos are still populated with weapons though.
