I've ridden Durango to Silverton steam engine rails...excellent experience

Have you visited Jamestown, which happens to be near Yosemite? You may enjoy it if you like this.

I have been to Jamestown and took nice pics of the entire park including Petticoat Junction water tower, which at the time was on the ground, unfortunately the trains were off-season not running when I was there last. I would love to ride the open car. Wouldn't compare to Durango-Silverton open car, though.

There seem to be two sections of narrow gauge left Chama to Antonito and the Durango-Silverton Section:
