(Reuters) - A federal judge has granted the Quechan Indian Tribe's request to halt work temporarily on a massive California solar plant under development by NTR's Tessera Solar. The move represents something of a roadblock for efforts to bring more solar power to California and the United States and will likely bolster the position of groups fighting to stop construction of solar plants around the Southwest.

I'd rather see a desert mussed up a bit than having a nuclear plant built. As long as we keep making too many people we are going to have to be making some trade-offs. Free birth control for anyone on the planet that wants it, or a bunch of nuclear power plants making waste that make waste that's deadly for thousands of years - or longer.
