Hwy 140 environmental impact report

What the hell for? There's already a road (actually two) through there. One happens to be buried by a rockslide.

Why are the environmentalists insisting on making the road repair as difficult as possible? Only in California...

I find it interesting that the part of the road that bypasses the slide is actually the roadbed of the old Yosemite railroad that steamed its way to El Portal.

the roads have been hacked for some time. i get really irritated every time i go there, it seems to be worse instead of better. i don't see the improvements personally.
