With 80 degrees forcasted for Reno I'm going to wander down to Markleeville for some gold panning attempts on the Carson Riv and wander over Monitor Pass and if I leave early enough might see if Bodie's open for wheeled travel.

Time to come out of hibernation despite the gas prices. Just won't buy as many souvenirs this year.

Couldn't afford to go as far north as Bridgeport, eh eeek? LOL

If Bodie Rd. is closed/impassable maybe I'll top off in Bridgeport and do more hunting along the East Walker.

Or not. I love uncertainty during road trips.

Actually I'm wishing I had gone that far. But I also was wishing I'd filled up in Bishop that morning.

I called Bodie State Park and found on their tape a message that the last two miles of the dirt road is impassable due to mud, snow and ice but you can hike in from there.

Nah, I can wait a couple weeks.
