My LED headlamp! Luckily I keep another (incandescent, unfortunately) as a spare.

The special sandpaper-like striker for my waterproof matches. The waterproof matches could not be lit by scratching them across rocks. Yeh, cold oatmeal isn't too bad. Fortunately, I was able to bum some extra regular matches from a family of hikers in return for getting them turned around. They had made a wrong turn a mile back because they had a poor trail map.

A sharpie marker.
To designate tap water or questionable water from the "better" water jugs.

Mine does.

Not completely forget, but on our last trip, my wife walked into camp from the woods on the last day and said: "You know, we are almost out of toilet paper..."

Ahem.

That's in her pack....and she cut it a little close this time!

My brother and sister in law once forgot their tent poles. We had an old type "easy up" canopy in our campsite so we took off the covering which left just the aluminum pole structure and suspened their tent from it with bungy cords. Looked like you know what but it worked!
