Panorama Trail
May 19, 2008 11:38AM
Hi everyone. I am travelling from England next week to the most beautiful place on earth, YOSEMITE! I've hiked the panorama trail in the fall but not at this time of year. It will be sometime next week. Any tips? Is it really wet on the mist trail and is there still any snow around?

I also hope to take the trail to Elizabeth Lake and also Lembert Dome and Dog Lake. Are there stiil mozzies there at this time of year, and is it really boggy?
Many thanks for any tips.

The Mist Trail will probably be very wet. Be sure to bring something where you can hide your camera, etc. from the water.

Elizabeth Lake is not a spring hike. There is a creek crossing which
is generally not passable until later in the season.

I tried it last year at about this time. Best to pick a different hike.

Cathedral Lake is a good choice. A little farther, but it is awesome!

Check to make sure Tioga Road is open. From another thread, I
see that it should be open in a few days.
