<HTML>I am planning on visiting the park at the end of the week for camping and photography. I have never been before and this is very last minute so I am kind of winging it. Will I need snowshoes and/or crampons for Hikes out of Yosemite Valley? What are my chances for needing chains? I will be coming in from San Francisico. Since I will be flying in I am trying to minimize weight.

<HTML>You shouldn't need crampons or snow shoes for most hikes out of the Valley. Even where there is snow to hike through I'd expect it to be well packed.

Chain requirements are unlikely (though possible) for Hwy 140 and the Valley because of the altitude. Just make sure you pay attention to the forecasts.</HTML>
