The weather service says there is another big storm due to arrive late Thursday.

Well this kind of puts a crimp into my plans to hike out to obelisk lake. Guess I better take everyones advice and take it slow. Bridalveil Campgrounds sounds like a good winter camp, and that only after the storm passes, if it ever does. Bridalveil looks like a pay-for campground. Any advice on snowshoes, since it looks like they'll be needed.

Can't complain though. looks like I'll be snowboarding at kirkwood on new years. Also, anyone familiar with this Echo to Kirkwood trail. Sounds like it would be fun, and it's a little closer to SF than yosemite.

Thanks for the advice everyone. As usual there's so much info that can't be gotten from a book, map or even a ranger. Can only be gotten from people whose only reason for being out there is the joy of being out there.
