Special agents with the National Park Service’s Investigative Services Branch (ISB) and park rangers are investigating the recent theft of ammunition from Crater Lake National Park. Thousands of rounds of rifle and pistol caliber ammunition were taken from a locked building in the headquarters area of the park. The ammunition is part of the park’s law enforcement program. Its theft is a felony.

Though you may remain anonymous, investigators are offering up to $1,000 for information leading to the identification, arrest, and conviction of those responsible.

The National Park Service’s Investigative Services Branch (ISB) is offering $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for a theft of ammunition at Crater Lake National Park.

Investigators have released a video of a vehicle entering the Annie Creek entrance station at approximately 2:30 a.m. on February 6, the day the theft was discovered. Investigators want to identify the occupants of the vehicle as they may have witnessed something related to the theft. Rifle and pistol caliber ammunition was stolen from a locked building in the park headquarters area in the early morning of February 6. The ammunition was used by federal law enforcement officers for training, firearms qualifications, and regular law enforcement operations. Its theft is a felony.
