Upper Yosemite Falls trip report?

Hey everyone! Has anyone been up to the top of Yosemite Falls lately? I have wilderness permits for this weekend and am wondering how it is in terms of snow. Our plans are to camp wherever we are able to find a good spot in the allowable area beyond Yosemite Point. We would then likely day hike to North Dome the next day if the trail is in good condition. We are hiking down Yosemite Falls to return home on day 3.

Any advice or suggestions are welcome! Thank you!

There has been probably a zillion and one up to top of Yosemite Falls recently...

You'll probably go ... "wow... there is a lot o people on this trail"

(not to bore you... but I have NEVER not seen anyone on this trail)
(name the month and weather... duzn't matter)
(even people walk right into your camp on snow well off trail...)

Anywho... snow level is high... and therefore...

Well... you should look at the Snow Creek thread and this:


Your trail is in woods from bit above Yose Pt to near North Dome... but
I don't see anything...

I'd take a look at Lehemite from the long straight spot before the Chapel...
if it's roaring... then I'd think ... ok, Indian Creek and Lehemite Creek may
be problematic to cross... but they probably can be crossed with a bit of
taking our time.. or I can just turn back around and go explore elsewhere... squirrel!

Thank you! Do you think El Capitan would be a better location for a day hike on day 2 of our 3-day trip? I haven't been there or to North Dome either. I hike in Yosemite several times every year so I'll se both eventually. But I'm wondering which would be better with the current conditions.

Eagle Peak Meadows area may be very ... delicious...
so... I would recommend... That you come back and do El Cap as a different trip...
unless you run into someone up there that has gone up to Eagle Peak
(which you really should do on way to/fro El Cap)

Just my opinion... I'd go to North Dome
