Epic snow level is challenging for PCT hikers

I wish I could be in the High Sierra this year but unfortunately that is not going to happen.
A lot of videos already have been posted that the waters are raging and I assume the best is still yet to come with rising temperatures.
As you all know the PCT has become more popular than ever (and I hope it's not going to be "loved to death"winking smiley many hikers are on the trail.
I do follow some of them watching their videos on Youtube. Word is that many hikers are skipping the High Sierra because of weather conditions and safety concerns.

Here's another recent video showing the amount of water and snow (plus how dangerous it is):

For a PCT hiker, keeping up with your schedule is critical to completing the trip in one year. I have to assume that a lot of people are falling short of that, given the conditions.
