Evening Permit Pickup

I'll be driving through Big Oak Flat Entrance around 6 or 7 on Thursday when it is closed. My backpack trip starts Friday from White Wolf. My wife and daughter who are not backpacking want the car and signed up for an organized hike at 9am Friday.

How do I do this? Ideally, I'd pick up the permit Thursday night, and sleep at White Wolf. Alternately, is there a campground near a permit station, and a shuttle to White Wolf?

The Big Oak Flat permit station will be closed, but you can pick up your permit at Hetch Hetchy until 9. The White Wolf campground is closed. Actually, the road to White Wolf is closed, so be sure to factor in a bit of a road walk. Maybe try to reserve a campsite at Hodgdon, Crane Flat, or Dimond O for Thu night? Tamarack Flat and Yosemite Creek are first-come, first serve, but I would guess both are filling every night.
