Coming down from a super late descent of Snake Dike, my climbing partner was becoming noticeably dehydrated around midnight of September 14th. Finally arriving to Vernal Falls, I made us take a break and I purified some water just at the top of the falls, about 30 feet upstream of the fence along side the river. I'm almost certain I forgot to put my Nikon DSLR 3300 camera in a black neoprene case with a broken UV filter in the pocket back inside my bag because it was dark, after a super long day, and I was distracted.
