Cathedral Lakes trailhead camping suggestions

Hey folks. I'm finally getting back to Yosemite for a short trip in early July with a Cathedral Lakes trailhead permit. I have two nights. I know it will probably be quite buggy around the lakes, so I'm hoping for camping suggestions. I'm planning on spending the second night on the shoulder of Clouds Rest and then hiking out via Sunrise, catching a shuttle back to Tuolumne Meadows. Fortunately, I'll be back to the Sierra in early August for a longer trip to Ediza/Thousand Island Lake!

Any recs for the first night? Are there decent spots along the JMT on the east side of Sunrise mountain? Or should I just deal with the bugs and camp at Sunrise Lakes? Suggestions welcome.

Thanks.

IF skeeters are a concern, head west out down Cathedral Creek to where it goes over the edge to Tenaya Lake and camp on the granite ridge there. The breeze should chase the skeeters away, the view is great, and you're still not so far off the trail to lose much time the next morning.
