Three Sisters & Eagle Peak (Photos)

This was my first time in the Dinkey Lakes Wilderness / Courtright Reservoir area. The drive to Courtright from San Jose took a long time, but we finally arrived around noon on Saturday morning.

Our objective for Saturday was a hike up the top of nearby Eagle Peak. From the Cliff Lake TH, the route immediately begins ascending the NW ridge. We had a bit of trouble route finding up a small obstacle on the way up; turns out the south facing slope was way easier and had was less snow (duh!). Half way up the views really began opening up.

The summit area was a class 2 scramble up a boulder field to an awesome diving-board-like feature.

Visibility was fairly good. We could see all the way up to the Cathedral & Ritter ranges in the north.

On Sunday, we did a longer hike out to Three Sisters Peak, the tallest peak in the area.

The view back to Eagle Peak showed how much more snow there was on the north sides of the peaks

Visibility was even better on Sunday with clear views from Yosemite to the Palisades

Pretty nice pictures. Scary how much 'bath tub ring' those reservoirs are showing in May...
