A few more... (it takes a long time to go thru 1500+ photos)
(yeah, I take way too many)

Ok, maybe not super... since camped too close to Koip Crest...
and next day Supermoon was superbright...

But super moonset both Friday and Saturday...

and

One from Kuna Crest itself:

More later perhaps. View from Donahue Peak was the best in the park.
And the View from Amelia Earhart Peak was the best in the park.
And the view ...

Have fun

Great stuff. Is #14 Maclure Lake? Any info on how to get over there? Looks pretty steep on Google Earth.

Yes. How do you want to get there? There are numerous options. Been there a couple times now...
once from Bernice and once from Lyell Fork of Tuolumne. Also been to the "lower" Maclure Lakes..
and those are easily obtained from near the bridge crossing. It's probably not as bad as what you think or see.
I can post the routes I've taken if you like.
If coming up Lyell Canyon I'd zip over from near bridge... there's a couple of ways up from there depending on
what else you want to check out.

Might try from the bridge someday. Is it mostly following Maclure Creek? Route would be awesome if you got it.

Here's map: Red are my gps trax... Black are routes that I would also recommend.
The red from Bernice... honestly not THAT bad... supposedly class 3 over "Hell Hole" Pass.
Abuse at your own risk

For fun.. here's Lyell and Maclure from last weekend:

The "glaciers" are looking pretty sad.

And a photosynth from Donahue Peak:

Enjoys

O... thought of you a few weekends ago on "The Old Tioga" road trek from TM to Tenaya Lake. Headed up towards Drug Dome
and then couldn't help myself and ended up following base of Medlicott ... picking up trail and going to Lower Cath n
then back down. You got up to Z Dome Lakes area... so you not have a problem with any of above.

And if you're wondering... I went up Lyell after spending night 1 at Bernice. Why I go that way? because I wanted to touch Maclure Lake...
and ... touch Reymann Lake on way to Bernice... was on "Lake Quest" ... that was in 2010
Have fun

Thanks. Super helpful as always. Seems like most of the time Google Earth is steeper than it looks. Once in a while it is easier than it looks.

Jeez...left...right...you must have trouble making up your mind which way to go?

This also seems appropriate here:

Always like your GPS tracks where you have been through the same area a zillion times. And of course... great pics.

Lyell glacier: yeah, I was kind of shocked at how it looked about three weeks ago. I don't remember ever seeing so little snow/ice up there over about 25 years, but that may be my faulty memory. One hiker said that Lyell had been declassified as a glacier because it was shrinking, not growing. I don't know.

Lyell "glacier" has stopped moving. Probably should be called a snowfield now. Good article here. I'm sure there are other articles....
