Stumbled up a guy's blog who really gets around w/a LOT pics

I've never heard of him, but perhaps some of you have, but while looking for route information for some potential trips, I happened upon this guy's blog who's been to a ton of places (plus all over Yosemite).

He spells out the route with a map, and then with very little commentary, floods each different topic entry with a very impressive array of photos that let you know exactly what you'll be climbing into.

The man's a goat.

If he's a goat, then he is a very fast goat! His specialty is mountain running and he is an "ambassador" for La Sportiva. Currently lives in San Carlos, originally from Washington, only 27-years-old.

Here's his bio on the La Sportiva website: http://www.sportiva.com/ambassadors/athletes/mountain-running/leor-pantilat

Ha! the more I read on his site, the more I started thinking.... "Hey, how the hell is he making up such ground/time?"

Now I know!

Leor is on my Facebook feed - he is an ultramarathoner. Also a good photographer. Always out for another ultra-adventure.

Thank you for sharing that.. I like him better after reading his report. Hats off to him..

But wow, Maune's unsupported record of 3 days 14 hours and 13 minutes sounds utterly amazing given how much assistance Pantilat got. 7 hours' difference? Unsupported. Does anyone know if unsupported also means no buddies pacing you, encouraging you? I actually don't know... My take is that unsupported means you carry everything you need, have stashed or sent your own food ahead to resupply points, and have no one on the trail helping you out.

Whatever, both are impressive, but more importantly, sounds like Leor loves the mountains and actually cares about exploring them and being in them, and he is fed by them. Okay, I don't care if you run or crawl if that's the way you feel. I'm just happy that folks that truly care about the mountains are out there.

The man is such a machine, he's already recoved and got yet another report up; it's about NE Yosemite.
