Tilden (and that's a lot of runoff)

Hi. Sorry haven't posted much lately... been out and about and dreaming and scheming...
and boating... and all around just hiking and enjoying the wilderness...

Spent 4th of July hiking with the wifey... snagged 2 more boundary markers...
and visited Tilden Lake from Sonora Pass TH.

Gorgeous...

Personally I haven't seen this that many times before (ok, I can't recall at all)...
WF Walker River...
(it was clear and flowing v. gently when arrived... an hour later... )


the next morning it was back down quite a bit


found 2 new markers... climbed Chittenden and Black Spur...
and made the wife climb some hills...

Finally managed to grab time to look through the pics!

So... Did you find the marker or did your wife (the one she's pointing to!)??? Hm??? 'Fess up!

Those lakes look so yummy! You swim in any? No boats this trip, right?

Love the vistas! Makes me want to get out there... Oh wait... I need to pack so I can get back out there tomorrow!

As for Benson trip report, hoping Bearproof can come through... I've had very little time with computer with a working brain and I didn't take a camera-- kinda relied on you and Bearproof for that!

We found the two markers. Thanks to Bearproof for the doc to help out.


It's not a Bald Eagle it's a Golden. They are easy to Id. It's under wings give them away.
Baldie would have a white head being that big.

Didn't bring a boat this time... didn't think would have enough time to enjoy...
and didn't swim in any lakes... people have to drink that water...
(this is a joke)

Wow...I thought that was a big robin. Hmm, back to studying the bird book. Maybe next time I will graduate. Trip report on Benson done (finally).

Glad you guys had fun. I might end up at Tilden in July to do some fishing... location is still TBD though.

I always assumed the walk in past the WF Walker was long and sandy with lots of horse dookie because of the pack station.... looks pretty nice in your pics though.
