Jack main/tilden lake in sept?

Hey folks!

Writing from the pct in Oregon (really smokey)!



Will be back in cali in sept and was hoping to do the hsc loop but my partner can't do those dates so I'm thinking of jack main/tilden lake loop in sept. Has anyone done this trio around that time frame?

Yes! It's wonderful up there anytime and you probably won't see very many people, potentially no one past the Laurel-Vernon-Rancheria loop, particularly later in the month. If you go a little later in September you might see the aspen's changing color in Jack Main. You might need to be strategic with water at the lower elevations as it is dry out there, but that shouldn’t be a big issue. Have fun out there.
